Role Description The General Contractor at Hare Properties is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for overseeing construction and renovation projects from planning through completion. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating trades and subcontractors, managing schedules and budgets, obtaining and reviewing permits, and ensuring work complies with building codes and safety standards. The role involves conducting site inspections, addressing issues in real time, ordering materials, and maintaining accurate project documentation. The General Contractor also collaborates with internal stakeholders and clients to align project scopes, manage expectations, and deliver high-quality results within agreed timelines. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in General Contracting and Construction, with experience supervising on-site work and coordinating multiple trades. Candidates should possess skills in Project Management and Construction Management, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management. Candidates should possess skills in Renovation and small-to-medium scale build-outs, with the ability to assess existing structures and plan upgrades effectively. Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes in Calgary, AB. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate with clients and vendors. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fast-paced construction environments. Previous experience as a General Contractor or Site Supervisor; relevant trade certification or construction-related education is an asset. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites as needed.
