Corporate Accountant

SKYGRiD is an industry-leading construction and building services company. We serve clients in the industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential markets, by utilizing our collaborative team approach to fulfill their building’s purpose.

What you will be doing:
The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for balance sheet management, tax remittances, project and other corporate allocations, in addition to managing the credit card and expense function for the company. Responsibilities also include monthly financial reporting, forecasting and the assisting in the budget process for all corporate departments.

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our organization.

  • Reviewing and posting all accounts payable batches.
  • Preparing all journal entries for accruals, prepaid allocations, and intercompany entries as required.
  • Managing weekly payroll integrations and project allocations, ensuring completeness and accuracy between systems.
  • Overseeing the processing of weekly payment batches.
  • Preparing and distributing monthly project cost allocations.
  • Managing the Corporate Credit Card program and integration with ERP.
  • Preparing and remitting monthly all Provincial Sales Tax remittance and Corporate Tax installments.
  • Preparing and remitting annual reconciliations for Federal and Provincial agencies including CRA Payroll Tax, Statistics Canada and EHT.
  • Analyzing monthly GL data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and post adjustments as required.
  • Managing monthly financial reporting and forecasting for all corporate departments.
  • Assisting in the annual budget process.
  • Managing and maintaining schedules for all corporate leases and vendor contracts.
  • Assisting with annual review by external accountants for SKYGRiD and related entities.
  • Ad hoc reporting as requested by Management.

What you will bring:

  • University degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or in process of CPA designation.
  • 2 or more years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Knowledge in working with large scale accounting software.
  • Strong organization & prioritization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Self-motivated individual.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
