As the Systems Developer you will be a member of an integral team responsible for developing system-based solutions by formulating programs, developing and maintaining codes and documenting processes for consistency and continuous improvement. You will contribute to a range of moderately complex and diverse team initiatives with the support of your team members.

TECHNOLOGIES YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • Experience deploying Guidewire applications (ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter) to cloud environments, including configuration and secrets management.
  • Proficiency in Java API development (Java 21, Dropwizard, JAX-RS) within Kubernetes-based architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of API security and integration (Kong, OAuth2, OIDC, mutual TLS, Azure AD/Entra ID).
  • Experience with containerization and Infrastructure as Code tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Kustomize, Terraform, ArgoCD).
  • Solid understanding of DevOps/GitOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (GitFlow, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Experience managing enterprise GitHub environments (secrets, branch policies, CODEOWNERS, Dependabot).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services (AKS, Blob Storage, Event Grid, Application Insights) and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with code quality/security tools and collaboration platforms (Veracode, Uptycs, Jira, Confluence).

 

HOW YOU WILL CREATE IMPACT:

  • Applying GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools, with a basic understanding of agents, instructions, skills, and prompt engineering to improve developer productivity.
  • Translating requirements into implementation plans aligned with DevSecOps standards and guidelines.
  • Writing code to implement CI/CD workflows, pipeline steps, utility classes, CLI tools, and infrastructure-as-code configuration of small to medium complexity.
  • Creating implementation and back-out plans for platform changes across pipeline, deployment, secret management, and API gateway components.
  • Performing unit testing for developed code, supporting system and user acceptance testing across multiple environments, and resolving defects by troubleshooting root causes.
  • Fostering productive relationships with application development teams and communicating analysis and results accordingly.

TO JOIN OUR TEAM:

  • You have 3 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.

  • You have completed post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Salary information

Expected salary range $60,574 to $100,956

Salary placement

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Incentive/Variable pay

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
