Position Summary
The Senior Scheduler guides the Coastal Scheduling team, managing long term maintenance plans and coordinating current Fiscal Year schedules with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting. Reporting to the Coastal Planning Team Lead, this role also monitors DRMIS notifications and supports Scheduling Coordinators through training and troubleshooting.
The Senior Scheduler, will oversee and be responsible for day to day activities as the Scheduling Coordinator develops Work Period schedules in line with the Service Delivery Annual Operating Plan (SDAOP) and Project Plan (SDPP), manages work lists, and maintains real-time dashboards to communicate schedule updates across the enterprise.

- Required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Senior Scheduler, reporting to the Coastal Planning Team Lead, leads the day to day activities of the Coastal Scheduling team in coordinating, preparing, monitoring, and maintaining Waterfront Maintenance packages and schedules. This role oversees long-term maintenance planning and the alignment of Fiscal Year schedules, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting. The Senior Scheduler collaborates closely with the Ship Maintenance Lead, Team Leaders, FMF, and subcontractors to confirm that all required maintenance is accurately identified and allocated within the designated work periods. These maintenance packages and schedules are developed to validate necessary maintenance for the appropriate work period and identify program critical paths with end customers and project partners, effectively managing the work periods across stakeholders.
The Senior Scheduler is also responsible for:
- Providing general project support and administration activities to the Service Delivery Team.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to develop valid and accurate bid and project maintenance packages.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to create and maintain valid and accurate project schedules, adhering to a weekly update cycle.
- Maintaining accuracy between DRMIS and Thales Systems for Maintenance call dates.
- Identifying schedule areas for improvement and suggesting actions to enhance performance.
- Advising the Ship Maintenance Lead on scheduling or production issues that could impact key dates.
- Ensuring data coordination across various program management systems to capture accurate performance data.
- Reconciling system-generated performance data with actual project performance through team communication.
- Preparing regular reports and charts on project schedule progress and performance as required by the Ship Maintenance Lead and stakeholders.
- Analyzing project schedule and cost performance.
- Supporting planning functions, including project structure with relevant documentation.
- Generating purchase requisitions for suppliers and subcontracted services, maintaining purchase orders, and ensuring efficient financial closure of subcontracts for Service Delivery and Procurement teams.
- Assisting in ensuring subcontracted service providers have the necessary paperwork and materials for designated maintenance tasks.
- Identify area of improvement and propose update to current processes
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements as part of a team effort.
- Performing additional tasks as required.

Basic Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience within the last 10 years performing planning, scheduling, and maintenance of schedules for multi-disciplined resources; Competent use of Scheduling Tools (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project);
- Experience with Maintenance Management Systems (IBM Maximo or SAP ECC);
- Project planning knowledge
- Demonstrated analytical skills;
- A high level of computing skills particularly with MS Office;
- Excellent communications skills including the ability to prepare and present reports to a range of audiences;
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to promote cooperation at all levels;
Education
- College Graduate with trade experience or;
- Post graduate qualifications or trainings around Business, Finance/Accounting, Project Management, or Engineering will be looked upon favorably
Language:
- Language: English (Essential)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DRMIS an asset.
- Prior experience in ship building, repair, or maintenance industry.
Physical Demands
Predominantly working onsite in the Naval Dockyard and onboard Naval Vessels, will also be required to work from the office or from home.
Must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards.
Special Position Requirements
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Physical Environment: Predominantly office work but will be required to work in dockyards and on Naval vessels, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including Naval Dockyards.
Travel: Occasional domestic travel may be required which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels.
Customer Location Based or Site Visits: Please select this box if this position is primarily based in a customer location or will require regular travel to and from one or more customer sites to perform the essential functions of the position.

Total Target Cash (TTC) 72,533.44 - 122,631.66 CAD Annual
