We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team Remote based anywhere in Canada . Candidates located in the Ottawa region are preferred.

Position Summary: The client requires the support of a Senior Business Analyst for ServiceNow to help with the delivery of the Client Experience Operational Excellence program by analyzing processes and data, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to fill in gaps and improve business processes and technological solutions. The resource is expected to be well versed in industry products and standards listed in the Framework agreement for Business Systems, with a particular emphasis on ServiceNow.

You will work closely with the business stakeholders and the program teams to perform strategic analysis to align initiatives with business goals, stakeholder management to cultivate relationships and facilitate decisions, data analysis to uncover trends and insights, and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency. Work closely with the program manager on a high priority program with various connected tracks running in parallel in an agile environment.

Job Description:

  • Assist with managing the program/projects during the initiation, planning, development, implementation and operations startup.
  • Work with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned track leads to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives.
  • Formulate statements of problems, establishes procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new or modified project elements to solve these problems, and obtains approval thereof.
  • Define and document the objectives for the program.
  • Determine budgetary requirements, the composition, roles and responsibilities and terms of reference for the program team.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program and project risks.
  • Report progress of the program and projects to program/project governance an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the lifecycle.
  • Prepare plans, charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems.
  • Work with a variety of program and/or project management tools.
  • Develop and document statements of requirements for work to be performed.
  • Perform business analysis of functional requirements to identify business rules, information needs, processes, and workflows.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, and application subsystems.
  • Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.
  • Identify candidate business processes for re-design, prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest a recommended course of action, and identify the modifications to the automated processes.
  • Establish acceptance criteria with client.
  • Support and use the various methodologies such as the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience within the last 12 years in Business Analysis.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience developing the strategy, architecture, and delivery of ServiceNow based applications (ServiceNow capabilities: Strategic Portfolio Management, Reports and Dashboards, UI Builder, AppEngine).
  • Must be fluent in English. French bilingual candidates are considered an asset.
  • Must have extensive expertise in the following domains:
    • Project and Program management
    • Business Analysis Planning
    • Strategic Business Analysis / Data Analysis / Solution Design
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Strategic Relationship Management
    • Business and Technical feasibility
    • Business Development
    • Performance measurement
  • Must have a university degree or college/CEGEP Diploma related to computer science, information technology, or engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. If applicable, a copy of Canadian equivalency must be provided as well. A copy of the degree or diploma must be provided if requested.
  • Certifications in Business Analysis are considered an asset.
  • Federal Government or Public Sector experience is considered an asset.
