What you’ll be doing

Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) is CIBC’s central point-of-contact with global prudential regulators. As a Senior Director, Global Regulatory Affairs you will be responsible for building and maintaining credible relationships with global regulatory authorities and will act as the central liaison between the regulators and CIBC. You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals who assist our Bank in developing and executing a robust and proactive regulatory relations strategy, and in effectively managing regulatory risk.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Build Relationships - Provide proactive advice and counsel to strategic business units on engaging with the regulators to maximize business outcomes and minimize reputational risk
  • Subject Matter Expert - Keep abreast of policy and legislative developments that could affect CIBC’s business objectives to provide intelligence and anticipatory input to enable robust, proactive regulatory strategies
  • Strong Collaboration - Partner with groups undergoing regulatory examination through centralized management of regulatory information requests, attending meetings with regulators, as required and providing advice and counsel
  • Consistency of Delivery: Ensure the consistency of timely, accurate and complete reports that are submitted to the regulators, senior management and the Board of Directors
  • Developing Team Members - Provide strong leadership to unlock the potential of the team and inspire hearts and minds
