Job Definition
You will act as a key technical leader within WBM’s AV & Collaboration Practice.
Your work will directly contribute to our goal of delivering reliable, well-designed collaboration environments that help our customers work better together. As aSenior AV Integration Technician, you will lead complex AV installations in the field, set the standard for quality and professionalism onsite, and play an active role in developing technical capability across the team.
This is asenior individual contributor role. You will remain hands-on while leading by example—guiding installs, supporting junior technicians, and ensuring every deployment reflects what it feels like to work with WBM.
What You’ll Do
World‑Class AV Installations
- Lead the onsite execution of complex commercial AV installations including meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and enterprise environments
- Perform and oversee rack builds, device installation, structured cabling, and hardware configuration
- Ensure all work meets WBM quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and project documentation
- Identify and resolve technical issues efficiently in the field to keep projects moving forward
Field Leadership & Training
- Act as the senior technical authority on assigned job sites
- Provide hands-on guidance, coaching, and training to junior and intermediate technicians
- Support consistent install standards, safety practices, and clean job sites
- Help elevate the overall capability and confidence of the field team through real-time mentorship
Integration & Commissioning Support
- Support system testing, verification, and basic commissioning activities
- Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and programmers to ensure smooth project handoffs
- Identify scope gaps, risks, or improvement opportunities early and communicate them clearly
Customer Experience
- Represent WBM professionally onsite with customers and partners
- Communicate clearly and confidently with customers in plain language
- Contribute to a positive, trusted customer experience throughout deployment
What Success Looks Like
- AV installations are delivered cleanly, safely, and to spec
- Junior technicians learn faster and perform better when working alongside you
- Customers feel confident, informed, and supported during installs
- Fewer issues carry forward into commissioning and handover
- You are trusted internally as a go to technical lead in the field
What You’ll Bring
Experience
- 5–10 years of hands-on AV installation and integration experience
- Proven experience delivering complex commercial or enterprise AV projects
- Comfortable leading installs and mentoring others without formal people management responsibility
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of AV systems, signal flow, and best practice installation standards
- Experience working with platforms such as:
- Crestron, Extron, Q‑SYS, or similar (certifications are an asset)
- Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Web-Ex, Google Meet hardware
- Ability to interpret AV drawings, schematics, and documentation
- Basic electrical or low-voltage installation training.
- Basic understanding of Networking Concepts (IP addressing, VPN’s, Wi-Fi connections)

- Calm, solutions-oriented approach in the field
- Confident decision‑maker who leads by example
- Clear communicator with both technical and non‑technical audiences
