Install Technician - TFI Canada
Location:
Full-Time: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Overtime as needed
Compensation: $30 - $45 per hour

About the role:
Install Technician will be responsible for delivery and installation of Commercial Food Equipment sold by TFI. As an Install Technician at TFI, core skills are professionalism, communication, and workmanship. Adherence and knowledge of the most current CSA 149.1 code is required. An Install Technician will train customers on operation and maintenance best practices, so learning the functionality of the equipment being installed is crucial to ensuring a successful installation. This position also offers the opportunity to grow into a Service Technician role.
You can expect:
- A steady schedule from8:00 AM to 4:30 PM(with occasional overtime)
- Approximately2–3 service calls per day
- Extensive hands-on training and ongoing support
What You'll Do
- Delivery, installation of all equipment TFI service. This includes gas/electric fryers, combi ovens, frozen beverage equipment, specialty coffee systems.
- Interacting with our customers and ensuring that their concerns are addressed in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to safely deliver equipment as required using a trailer or hydraulic lift and get into site without issue.
- Trailering experience an asset, not required.
- Correctly filling out installation paperwork and job tasks using digital work order software.
- Maintaining an orderly and accurate parts inventory in your TFI provided service truck/van.
- Training with other technicians on preventative maintenance and service procedures.
- Maintaining relationships with customers by examining concerns, identifying solutions, and recommending system improvements.
- Selling additional services and products by recognizing opportunities to up-sell.
- Responding to on-call service emergencies on select evenings and weekends.
- Some overnight travel required (company credit card, gas card and per diem provided).
- Travel to the Manufacturer Facilities (USA) for continuous development/training opportunities as required by position.
What We're Looking For:
- Gas Technician 3 or 2 license mandatory & in good standing with TSSA (required)
- Ability to drive a truck with a 12' trailer.
- Ability to independently work, and follow manufacturers installation instructions.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions in English orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Knowledge and ability to work on 110v up to and including 220v system and equipment.
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation.
- Able to work well under pressure with strong attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to ask probing questions and understand and resolve customer concerns.
- Must be smartphone and tablet literate, with the ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.
- Must be able to independently apply TFI’s processes, procedures and uphold rigorous standards without constant management.
- Any second language is an asset.
- Driver's License (required)
