About The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Support Technician to support conference rooms and meeting spaces within a fast-paced workplace technology environment. You will be the front line for conference room reliability, performing daily system checks, resolving technical issues, helping employees during meetings, and installing new rooms from the ground up.

This role works closely with employees, the IT Helpdesk, workplace technology teams, event teams, vendors, and contractors. You will gather feedback through support tickets, direct conversations, documentation, and team collaboration to improve the conference room experience. Occasional internal event support is included, but this position is not responsible for leading event production.

Core Attributes

Service-Oriented: You provide patient, professional support to employees with a wide range of technical experience. Calm Under Pressure: You remain focused and effective while troubleshooting active meetings and time-sensitive AV issues. Technically Curious: You ask thoughtful questions, investigate root causes, and stay current with AV and unified communications technology. Collaborative: You work effectively with IT teams, event teams, vendors, contractors, and escalation partners rather than solving every issue alone. Detail-Oriented: You carefully verify room readiness, equipment configurations, inventory records, and technical documentation. Adaptable: You can move between preventive maintenance, live support, installations, documentation, and occasional event assistance. Accountable: You take ownership of issues through diagnosis, escalation, resolution, and follow-up.

Responsibilities

Perform daily AV health checks across conference rooms to identify and resolve issues before meetings begin. Support employees using Google Meet, displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, conferencing systems, and room controls. Troubleshoot Google Meet room systems, Logitech Rally products, Neat Bar Pro systems, and Logitech room schedulers. Resolve hardware, software, connectivity, firmware, audio, video, room-booking, and basic network-related issues. Respond to IT Helpdesk escalations through in-person support and ticket-based workflows. Train employees on the proper use of conference room AV systems and meeting technology. Install, configure, provision, and test new conference rooms, including displays, cameras, cabling, room hardware, and low-voltage infrastructure. Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio equipment, including digital signal processors, mixers, microphones, and speakers. Document room configurations, signal-flow diagrams, equipment inventories, troubleshooting procedures, and standard operating procedures. Monitor room health using remote management tools and apply firmware and software updates. Track, order, stock, and maintain AV and IT equipment, spare hardware, and consumable supplies. Coordinate with vendors and contractors on procurement, installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Assist with setup, teardown, and onsite support for internal meetings, town halls, webinars, and company events under the direction of the event team. Recommend practical improvements to conference room systems, support processes, and the employee meeting experience.

Qualifications For Success

Minimum Requirements

Three to five or more years of IT or AV support experience, with a focus on conference rooms and meeting spaces. Hands-on experience with Logitech Rally cameras, speakers, microphones, Rally Bar, or Rally Bar Mini products. Hands-on experience with Neat Bar Pro or comparable all-in-one video conferencing systems. Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech room schedulers or similar scheduling displays. Strong experience troubleshooting Google Meet hardware and software in conference room environments. Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot a conference room from the ground up, including mounting, cabling, configuration, testing, and commissioning. Basic to intermediate networking knowledge, including switches, Wi-Fi, servers, and AV-over-IP fundamentals. Experience supporting Apple computers through enterprise management tools. Experience managing and troubleshooting Windows laptops and desktops. Experience using enterprise ticketing and workflow systems. Familiarity with HDMI, SDI, Dante, USB-C, AV-over-IP, and other common AV signal types and connectors. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing more than 50 pounds as needed. Eligibility to work in Canada without employer-sponsored visa support.

Preferred Qualifications

AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist certification or active progress toward certification. Experience with Poly, Yealink, Crestron, or similar conferencing ecosystems. Experience configuring or programming Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS control systems. Experience with Q-SYS, Biamp, Extron, or similar audio DSP platforms. Ability to read and interpret AV signal-flow diagrams and technical schematics. Experience providing secondary support for live internal events. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: CAD $50.00 per hour.

Working Environment

Work Arrangement: Onsite five days per week. Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday during business hours. Contract Length: Four months (potentially continuing). Travel & Training-related travel: TBD. The role requires regular movement between conference rooms, hands-on equipment installation, cabling work, and the ability to lift more than 50 pounds. Occasional internal event support may be required.
