Position Overview:

The Storesperson provides logistic and material support to the Main Operating Base. The Storesperson will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location in Comox, BC.

What You Will Do:

  • Receives, locates, issues, ships parts, material, tools and equipment.
  • Carries out non-technical inspection of all items received.
  • Utilizes all logistic and material records and publications, including the computer based logistic system.
  • Provide data entry of all logistical and material related information and documents.
  • Maintain filing systems for all records and documentation.
  • Carry out local purchasing if necessary in support of the Tool Crib attendant.
  • Carry out stocktaking.
  • Operates forklift, pallet jack and motor vehicles as required.
  • Liaise with CSC Material Branch as required.
  • Fly/Travel and work at other main operating bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties and ferry flights, as required.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and directives established by the Company.
  • Attend training for trade and professional development and for qualification, recertification and authorization purposes.
  • Sweep and clean stores section and maintain a safe, clean work area.
  • Perform other stores related activities as tasked by the Senior Stores Person or MOB management.
  • Perform Senior Stores person duties when Senior Stores person is absent.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum education level of grade 12 or equivalent and related training and experience in material control warehousing.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in material control and warehousing operations is required.
  • Knowledge of material control and warehousing operations, Stores operations, shelf life, stock taking, shipping and receiving, HazMat, POL disposal, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Ability to use standard computer systems and specialized computer systems applicable to the Stores operation.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS) procedures, as it pertains to Stores.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Ability to use standard computer programs and such specialized ones as may be necessary in the performances of assigned duties.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
  • Continually focus on individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work. Fully comply with Federal Health and Safety Legislation Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S activities
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
