As our HR Advisor, you will provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of HR matters to both employees and management. You will assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with relevant regulations. The incumbent will also collaborate closely with the HR team to support various HR initiatives and projects. This is a temporary position for 18 months, with possibility of extension.

Dive In And Make a Splash Every Day, By
- As a main point of contact provides effective, timely support and advice on all HR matters.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on HR policies, procedures, the collective bargaining agreement and best practices.
- Assists in handling employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees.
- Provides support for labor relations matters, including interpreting the collective bargaining agreement and participating in grievance procedures
- Leads the recruitment process and assists in sourcing candidates, screening resumes, participating in interviews, and facilitating the selection process. Advises on effective recruitment strategies and techniques to attract and retain top talent
- Develops, reviews, and updates HR policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards. Conducts periodic audits to assess compliance with HR policies and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Supports HR Coordinator in maintaining accurate, confidential employee records, including personnel files, performance management forms, and other HR-related documentation.
- Assists with payroll, benefits, and ad-hoc HR projects.
What You Bring To Sandbox
- Education: A post secondary degree or diploma from a recognized business course with a concentration in human resources.
- Experience: Five (5) years progressive human resource generalist experience; with at least one year in a unionized workplace.
- Human Resources acumen: Knowledge of principals and concepts of human resource management.
- Technology Knowledge: Demonstrated experience working with systems, (i.e., Microsoft
- Office 365, MS Teams SharePoint). Strong understanding of HRIS (BambooHR) and is motivated to drive new initiatives and support process efficiencies.
- Conflict resolution and negotiating skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships to resolve conflicts and encourage a strong supportive culture.
- Developing others: Practices a ‘hands-on’ approach when directing employees and empowers employees to be successful through training, developing, and coaching.
