The Opportunity
As a Technical Consultant in the Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, technical consulting services and solutions for our clients. Your primary focus will be on providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to help clients optimize their EHSQ programs and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
This is an individual contributor role that focuses on managing technical projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and advising clients on technology-enabled solutions.
Primary Responsibilities

Technology Integration: Assess, recommend, and implement technology solutions to streamline EHS processes, such as incident management, risk assessment, compliance tracking, and reporting.

Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their EHS needs and challenges, offering tailored technology solutions that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement within EHS programs, providing actionable insights to clients.

Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to clients in the implementation and utilization of EHS technology solutions, ensuring effective adoption and knowledge transfer.

Stay Abreast of Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with technological advancements and trends in the EHS industry, continuously evaluating their applicability to enhance client solutions.
Knowledge & Skills

Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with EHS software, data management, and reporting tools. Familiarity with platforms such as EHS management systems, incident reporting software, and environmental compliance tools.

Regulatory Knowledge : In-depth understanding of environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements relevant to the industry.

Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.

Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a constructive and consultative manner.

Project Management : Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in technology consulting, with a focus on EHS.
- Previous experience in implementing and managing EHS technology solutions.
Education
- Undergraduate degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, technology or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar, is a plus.

Subject Matter Expert (SME): Develop specialization in a specific aspect of EHS technology (e.g., air quality monitoring, chemical management) and become a recognized SME in the industry. Typically requires 10+ years of specialist experience combined with education.
General Details:
- Location: Summit currently operates in a hybrid work structure. Employees attend our Oakville, Ontario office at least 2 days per week to participate in team meetings, training and company events.
