Internship Summary:
Tilray is a global leader in the cannabis industry, and we are looking for a talented Category and Sales Analytics Intern to join our team this summer. As the Category and Sales Analytics Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Category Analyst through market analysis and providing actionable insights on in market trends in the cannabis industry. You will use your expertise and knowledge of the industry to effectively analyze data and provide meaningful insights that will help inform our commercial decisions. You will also be responsible for identifying new opportunities for business growth and continuous improvement. A Day in a life of….
As the Category and Sales Analytics Intern you will support the Adult Use Recreational division in conducting research and analysis that provide valuable data driven insights which ultimately assist in product development, promotional execution, key initiative deployment, department development, and strategic alignment.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work with the Senior Category Analyst to prepare regional analysis for primary and secondary markets, and present research to cross-functional teams (marketing, sales)
- Work with the Senior Category Analyst to present category analysis, product and sales insights to regional sales directors, key account managers, and brand managers
- Work with the Senior Category Analyst to develop innovation and product launch tracking and analysis
- Illicit market research and analysis
- Assisting with preparing regional category presentations and analysis
- Work with the BI (Business Intelligence) team on process improvements and dashboards; leverage existing dashboards and data sources when developing analysis and insights
- Special projects, presentations, and ad hoc analysis

Qualifications :
- The ability to work with a wide variety of individuals within the organization and maintain regular contact with all stakeholders
- A high degree of self-motivation and discipline
- Knowledgeable about industry players, brands, and products
- Understand the fundamentals of economics (supply, demand, elasticity), accounting (COGs, margins, growth, price slope, breakeven)
- Adept at using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (intermediate to advanced)
- Computer savvy and data driven
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you respond to emails and requests in a timely manner
- Strong work ethic and a learning mindset
- Effective time management skills
- Experience in CPG, at a cannabis LP, or at a cannabis retailer is an asset
- Experience with PowerBI is an asset
- Currently completing a post-secondary degree in business administration, data analytics, statistics, computer science accounting, finance, or related field
