About The Role:
With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, the House Aide is responsible for performing a variety of activities related to the health, safety and quality of life of residents.
What You Will Do:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Resident Centered Care: Promotes service excellence through ensuring that residents receive efficient food delivery in a calm, clean, organized, efficient and relaxed manner. • Sets up the dining room in an organized manner and ensures that the dining room is cleaned at the conclusion of each meal time. • Serves meals and beverages to residents while following standard procedures. Maintains knowledge of the menu to ensure accurate communication regarding the meal with residents. • Verifies a minimum of two resident identifiers prior to serving any meals, snacks or beverages. • Encourages residents to be independent and assists only when needed during the meal service. • Follows sanitation safety guidelines when handling food items and ensure that proper temperatures and hand washing procedures are adhered to. • Maintains cleanliness in the dining room by washing and sanitizing all dishes, wiping condiment containers, sanitizing service counters, wiping kitchen doors and windows and cleaning all food service equipment as outlined in cleaning schedule. 2. Documentation: Accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of routine cleaning and ensures adequate supply of all cleanings supplies. • Ensures that any food quality issues are promptly communicated to the kitchen in a courteous manner. • Ensures that all cleaning is documented according to established processes. • Records all food temperatures in Temperature Logs as required. 3. Team Work: Cares for and actively participates and assists other employees to achieve and maintain a responsible atmosphere of resident centered care. • Coordinates with team members and other employees to ensure that all required cleaning is complete on a regular basis. • Communicates any dining or cleanliness issues to supervisor. What You Bring: QUALIFICATIONS Education • Grade 10 Education Experience • 1-2 years’ experience with seniors is preferred. Additional Skills • Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment. • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. • Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and sanitizing procedures an asset.
