Reporting to the Senior Manager, Community Impact and Engagement, the Inclusion Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring Autism Moves provides responsive, inclusive, and high-quality programming for autistic children and youth and meaningful support for their families. Drawing on direct experience in the autism field, the Inclusion Coordinator will oversee program operations, recruit and support staff and volunteers, guide individualized adaptations and positive support strategies, and build trusted relationships with families. The role also includes program supervision, administration, evaluation, and communication among participants, families, team members, and community partners.

This part-time, contract role has an hourly rate of $35/hr (20 hours per week). This is a replacement position and works on-site. 

What you’ll do

• Recruit, onboard, schedule, and supervise program staff and volunteers.
• Support participant recruitment and registration and build respectful, responsive relationships with families from initial intake through program completion.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and program curriculum using autism-informed and individualized adaptations that respond to participants’ strengths, interests, communication styles, sensory preferences, support needs, and goals.
• Lead autism-informed staff and volunteer training so facilitators are equipped to understand individual participant profiles, communicate effectively, use visual and sensory supports, and deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging programming.
• Oversee weekly program delivery, including facilitation, staff support, participant engagement, and the consistent use of individualized, positive, and proactive support strategies. 
• Monitor program quality and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to staff and volunteers, with particular attention to autism-informed practice and the consistent implementation of participant support plans.
• Work collaboratively with participants, families, and program staff to anticipate needs, remove barriers, and implement strategies that support communication, regulation, participation, safety, and accessibility. 
• Prepare and maintain accurate program documentation and administrative materials, including attendance records, confidential participant profiles, family-provided support information, visual supports, schedules, and program resources.
• Coordinate program supplies, equipment, and resource distribution across program sites.
• Handle administration tasks including scheduling, documentation, data tracking, and communication.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of program evaluation data, including post-season surveys and outcome reporting, to support continuous program improvement.
• Act as a knowledgeable and trusted liaison among participants, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners; listen to family perspectives, respond to questions and concerns, communicate relevant support information, and provide timely updates.

What’s needed

• Post-secondary education, certification, or equivalent professional experience in autism services, behaviour analysis, special education, child and youth care, therapeutic recreation, sport and recreation, or a related field.
• Direct, hands-on experience supporting autistic children and/or youth and their families in community, recreation, education, clinical, or therapeutic settings is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of autism-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice, including individualized communication, sensory and visual supports, proactive regulation strategies, positive approaches to behaviour, and family-centered support.
• Experience coordinating programs for children or youth, including staff or volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and program delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative, respectful relationships with autistic participants and their families and to apply family insights to program planning and delivery.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. 
• Able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sectors Check.
