For more information, please visit our website at: https://chg.com/ The Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is responsible to troubleshoot, repair, install and apply preventative maintenance techniques on a wide variety of food processing equipment. The ideal candidate will work effectively with the maintenance team and operations, have exposure to lockout procedures and working at heights while working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronics and robotics systems. The successful candidate needs to be team player and must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervision, able to work shifts and overtime when required. For the right candidate this position has potential for exponential future growth and many prospects for advancement.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Read mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings/schematics
• Maintain, install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as conveyors, pumps, combustion blowers, fans, and tanks according to layout plans using hand and power tools and welding equipment
• Experience plumbing with black pipe, copper, and pex
• Experience working with natural gas burners and continuous ovens
• Familiar with daily operations of the small gas fired boiler
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as chain blocks, jacks and forklifts, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
• Inspect, troubleshoot and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, regenerative vacuum blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
• Operate machine tools, such as lathe, milling machine, bandsaw and grinders, to fabricate equipment upgrades and parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of new machinery
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner.
• Sufficient experience in MIG, Stick and TIG welding

Good To Have:

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and programmable logic controls
• Experience in hygienic TIG welding of stainless steels. Aluminum is a bonus.
• Boiler operators ticket
• Red seal Millwright ticket
• Food Plant experience

Required Qualifications:

• 3- 5 years’ experience in fast-paced manufacturing - preferably in the food industry.
• Industrial controls experience preferred (e.g. Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens PLC, VFD Drives, HMI, basic industrial networking).
• Excellent communication skills in English – written and verbal.
• Able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and Works well under stress.
• Computer Literate (Microsoft Office).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and programmable logic controls.
• Experience in hygienic TIG welding of stainless steels. Aluminum is a bonus.

Shift timing: Tuesday to Saturday 9pm to 5am Minimum Job Requirements: Education/Certifications:

• Industrial millwright or equivalent, preferably RED seal

Working Conditions And Physical Effort:

• Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as noise, dirt, dust, fumes, and darkness. Seasonal exposure to weather elements include, but are not limited to, extreme temperatures, hot and cold, wetness and humidity.
• Follow safety regulations, company policies, and guidelines
• Successful candidate should have the ability to safely and effectively repair failed production line equipment quickly under pressure
• Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
• Position requires the ability to be on your feet for a long extended part of your day, moving equipment up to 50 pounds; reaching and kneeling on a daily basis.
• Requires the ability to see, hear and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
• Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, will be provided
