This position works in the Green Fleet and Equipment organization unit. This is technical and administrative work in the development and coordination of the overall fleet management program to support all aspects of City's centralized fleet services and its transition to green energy. The Fleet Services Coordinator conducts technical studies to assess the feasibility of fleet and equipment replacements; liaises with fleet divisions to gather information on future requirements; analyzes economic data, budget data, historical data, forecasts and other information to prepare recommendations on potential solutions. Coordinates in procurement process, including specifications, proposals, evaluations and purchasing. An incumbent also participates in the day-to-day coordination of maintenance and servicing work plans which include preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing, cleaning, overhaul and major repair, new vehicle fleet commissioning, rebuilds, special modifications, warranty servicing and repair, recalls and special projects. Enters, maintains, and monitors data in the fleet management system; reports on a series of performance metrics such as backlogs, planning accuracy, schedule compliance and asset reliability; works with internal staff to establish performance targets and to develop plans to meet the targets. Provides services to manage shared pool vehicles program. Supports EV charging infrastructure development and monitoring. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include a Diploma in a related field such as engineering technology or business, including or supplemented by preventative maintenance and project management courses, plus considerable related experience in fleet and equipment planning; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of the functions, procedures, methods and regulations related to the maintenance, operation, replacement and disposal of a large and diversified municipal fleet of vehicles and equipment, including emerging trends in green technologies. Considerable knowledge of fleet maintenance planning and management, office automation and software applications; costing and budgetary matters related to the work. Ability to prepare and analyze budget data, to forecast and analyze labour, materials and supplies, facility space, time, tools and other resource requirements; to conduct technical and feasibility studies and to recommend goals, strategies, plans, and projects. Skill in the use of software and data analysis tools to meet the requirements of the work (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT, Geotab, Infor, etc.). A Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
SALARY: $7,086 – 7,383 – 7,691 – 8,013 – 8,364/month (2024 rates)
$7,592 – 7,910 – 8,239 – 8,583 – 8,959/month (2026 rates)
This is a Temporary Full Time position until December 31, 2026.
