About the role

Description: The Respiratory Therapist II coordinates, monitors and assesses the clinical services in their assigned area, and acts as a clinical resource for daily operations and the development of clinical protocols. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized and accredited school of Respiratory Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration and member in good standing with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy. Current C.P.R. and B.C.L.S. Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in an acute care Operating Room. Knowledge of the autologous blood transfusion system. Must be registered with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapy of Alberta. Must have good organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple competing priorities through the utilization of critical thinking, delegation, and prioritization skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well within a team. Must be able to respond and manage challenging, stressful situations in a calm, clear manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Anesthetic Technologist certification preferred. Recent experience within the past two years in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Emergency Department (ED) preferred. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification an asset.
