ELECTRONICS TEAM LEAD – GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPC)
The Electronics Team Lead is responsible for the coordination of maintenance of instrumentation, electrical/electronic systems, and software/firmware utilized on equipment at the base and supported areas.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule time, repairs as well as equipment and operations personnel
- Read diagrams and schematics for successful completion of work procedures
- Conduct safety inspections and complete all required forms
- Suggest improvements towards better utilization and operation of equipment, raise concerns about functionality, and encourage employees to make suggestions and give feedback
- Keep up to date on the latest developments as they relate to the oil and gas service industry
- Search, develop, and implement new technologies
- Troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and maintain equipment
- Maintain inventory and specialty components used in day-to-day operations
- Train operations personnel in the use and care of related equipment
- Assist in formal classroom seminars and training offered to Trican employees as required
- Collaborate with the Electronics Coordinator on operational deficiencies and suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required
- Assume Electronics Coordinator duties when absent or when designated
- Ensure job quality, safety requirements, and standard procedures coincide with Trican company standards, government legislation, and customer requirements
Experience & Skills:
- Post-Secondary Education in Electronics, Instrumentation or Electrical
- Completion of Electronics Technician Certification
- Minimum six years of related industry experience
- Extensive technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, company policies, and government regulations
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
- Skilled in applying problem-solving techniques to complications that may arise
- Skilled in supervision while exhibiting motivation, coaching, delegation, and training
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Desktop Application Systems
