About Us JOB DESCRIPTION Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces, and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.
In addition to our precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.
Responsibilities
- Batching concrete using a computerized batching system
- Managing on hand inventory to meet daily production requirements (cement/aggregates/admixtures)
- Receiving and entering delivery slips for cementitious materials, aggregates, and admixtures
- Daily cleaning, inspecting, and maintenance of the batching system and surrounding areas
- Maintaining a healthy environment with respect to cleanliness, production, and safety
- Clean out mixer at the end of each batch
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Ability to do manual work such as digging trenches and lifting more than 50lbs
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Comfortable with technology such as computers
- Ability to read and write
- Familiarity with hand tools such as drills, air chisels, etc.
- Must be able to work with changing schedules and irregular hours when required
- Previous labour experience within a concrete industry is an asset

We also have sales offices in Maine and Massachusetts.
