The Procurement and Supply Chain Division sets the strategic direction, policies, and processes for procurement and supply chain related functions across government. Procurement and Supply Chain provides a vital link between vendors and the Manitoba Government's purchasers of goods and services. Within the division, The Materials and Distribution Agency is looking to fill the Project Management Specialist position.

Duties:

The project manager specialist leads or supports multiple projects by defining clear scopes, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility. They evaluate programs, products, and services to identify improvement opportunities and track project performance using appropriate tools and methods. The specialist prepares high quality written materials that meet government standards and communicates effectively with managers, agencies, and departments throughout project development. They also assist in researching, designing, and producing high level documents, including proposals, service agreements, memorandums of understanding, newsletters, catalogues, signage, and web content.

Qualifications:

Essentials:

  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, design or multimedia specialization or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies, operational excellence, data analysis and process mapping.
  • Relevant project management experience.
  • Experience analyzing client needs and developing solutions aligned with organizational goals
  • Excellent verbal communications skills with the ability to present to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communications skills with the ability to prepare a variety of documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, including the safe operation of equipment, proper material handling, hazard identification, and effective emergency response planning.
  • Proficient with desktop publishing software, Adobe applications, web- authoring applications, project management applications.

Desired:

  • Six Sigma certification (Yellor or Green belt) is desired.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.
