What You’ll Be Doing
As Senior Vendor and Contract Manager within CIBC’s Technology Operations department, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day vendor relationships and contract compliance. You will act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders—including Line of Business teams, Procurement, and Legal—and external suppliers to ensure effective collaboration, fulfill contractual obligations, and align service delivery with organizational goals. Leveraging your expertise in contract management, negotiation, and analytics, you will drive value, mitigate risks, and support strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who excels at managing complex vendor portfolios, interpreting contract terms, and fostering collaborative partnerships in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management - Prepare, schedule, and facilitate regular business reviews with vendors and internal teams. Monitor assigned supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements. Analyze supplier financials, spend, and performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Perform follow-up activities to address performance issues and ensure adherence to service objectives.
- Review and Analyze - Exercise independent judgment within established procedures to make decisions regarding vendor management activities. Support audit-related activities by ensuring accurate documentation, timely responses to audit requests, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements. Lead risk management activities during contract amendments, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks in collaboration with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders. Conduct ad hoc research and prepare reports for senior management as required.
- Relationship Management & Communication Support the Line of Business lead and other stakeholders in vendor-related initiatives and escalations. Serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, procurement, legal, and suppliers for contract-related matters.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience in: Vendor Management. You have contract and legal experience, strong negotiation skills, including managing contracts, terms/conditions and service level agreements (SLAs), experience with contract interpretations, risk assessment tools and follow-ups with service owners and technical staff. Problem solving experience with knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems. You also have experience in relationship management with an ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers. You possess strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Any experience or exposure to Tableau, Power BI, Jira, Confluence, Archer, Coupa, contract management, and Benchmarking is an advantage.
- You have a degree/diploma in Information Technology Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration An MBA or a financial designation (CPA, CMA, CA) is considered an asset.
- You give meaning to data: You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of information. You have experience in analytics and using data to convey your ideas, and you are skillful using Microsoft’s suite of products particularly Excel (advanced skills), Power BI, and Tableau Software
- Finance and Accounting – You have the knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis and reporting. Support in validation/ financial analysis of service change requests and contracts
