JOB SUMMARY
The Bartender plays an important role in creating a positive guest experience at Mamaqtuq. This position involves serving beer, wine, and simple mixed drinks, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and supporting the restaurant team. The role is well-suited to individuals who are dependable, enjoy working with people, and are committed to respectful and responsible service. Advanced mixology skills are not required.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, and simple mixed drinks
-
Greet guests and take drink orders politely
-
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning glassware
-
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process orders and payments
-
Monitor guest consumption and follow responsible service guidelines
-
Assist with basic food service tasks when needed (e.g., clearing tables, refilling water)
-
Support the team with opening and closing duties
-
Follow health and safety rules
Shift Times:
Bartender positions are scheduled across multiple shifts. While the current shift structure is outlined below, please note that it may be adjusted based on operational needs. Applicants must be available to work a combination of the following shifts:
- Morning Shifts
- Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Evening Shifts:

Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Saturday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
-
Sunday: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
-
Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays, based on restaurant needs. Please indicate your availability for shifts in your application.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
-
Safe Serve certification (or willingness to obtain)
-
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality (bartending experience is an asset but not required)
-
Friendly and respectful communication skills
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
-
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lifting up to 15 lbs
-
Dependable and able to work scheduled shifts. You can indicate your shift availability—whether it’s full-time, part-time, or just once in awhile when applying.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting.

Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system
