Job Overview As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the well-being and care of animals in our facility. This position involves providing daily care for dogs, ensuring their environment is clean and safe, and assisting with customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Duties

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising pets.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas by regularly cleaning and sanitizing spaces.
• Handling dogs on and off leash.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the management team.
• Assist in customer service by greeting pet owners, answering questions, and providing information about services offered.
• Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed to create a secure environment for both pets and staff.
• Help with any and all duties to keep the facility running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in animal care or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Own means of transportation to get to and from work.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to handle all size dog breeds and temperaments.
• Ability to remain calm in situations.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
