The Secretary II provides advanced level administrative support. The Secretary II performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate from a recognized office or secretarial administration program. Minimum of 2 years progressively responsible secretarial/administrative assistant experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Intermediate/advanced experience in a Windows-based PC environment, including knowledge of computer applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook and intranet applications). Experience working within a high-volume, time-intensive organization. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Ability to make sound judgment decisions. English language skills in reading, writing, and oral communication required, including formatting, grammar, and proofreading skills. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks. Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and legislated requirements regarding client/patient confidentiality. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and still meet workload timelines, required. Ability to move and lift moderately (up to 30 pounds) heavy objects, required. Ability to operate basic office equipment, including fax, photocopier and personal computer, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Oracle and Connect Care are assets.
