Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 3 for Namao School.

Located just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert, Namao School serves Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9 with approximately 400 students and 38 staff. The school is known for its welcoming, close-knit atmosphere and commitment to providing a safe and caring learning environment for all students.

This role will work closely with Junior High students across subject areas, providing targeted support for learning, behaviour, and daily routines under the direction of the classroom teacher.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support Junior High students in academic and classroom activities
  • Assist with positive behaviour programs and interventions
  • Implement individualised strategies for students with diverse learning and behavioural needs
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and social skill development
  • Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment

What You Bring

  • Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting students with challenging behaviours
  • Formal training in Autism or Behaviour Supports
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools training (TCIS)
  • Knowledge and experience with alternate communication methods, medication administration, special needs, tube feeding, diapering, and lifts/transfers
  • Equivalent combinations of education and a minimum of 5 years' related experience as an EA2/EA3 with challenging behaviours may be considered
  • Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
