Responsibilities
As a key member of a national leading security company, the Security Guard will:
- Apply decision-making and strong communication skills to all duties and responsibilities relating to security and safety
- Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed
- Follow Post Orders for each site
- Undertake site-specific training and follow direction from the Client Service Manager or Supervisor
- Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at access points
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or in vehicle to ensure security of personnel, buildings, and equipment
- Monitor for safety infractions or hazards and report irregularities
- Respond to emergency situations and contact emergency responders as required
- Offer assistance to anyone in need and maintain professionalism at all times
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all data and information
- Utilize two-way radio and computer applications effectively
- Demonstrate an active interest in promoting workplace safety
- Motivate, support, and inspire co-workers
Requirements
- Must live within 1 hour of La Crête, AB
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts
- Availability for a variety of shifts, including overnight and weekends
- Valid Alberta Security License (or ability to obtain one)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to own vehicle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities with a professional, friendly demeanor
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain detailed site logs
- Able to make immediate decisions while maintaining composure in emergency situations
- Discretion when handling confidential information
- Physically capable of walking 18–20 km and climbing stairs
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
- Certification Required: First Aid & CPR Level C
