Role Description The Safety and Driver Hiring Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB. This position oversees driver recruitment, screening, and onboarding, ensuring all drivers meet company and regulatory standards. The role includes managing safety programs, monitoring compliance with transportation regulations, conducting incident reviews, and coordinating safety training and coaching. The manager collaborates with operations and dispatch teams to align staffing needs with service demands, and maintains accurate records related to driver qualifications, safety performance, and equipment use. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve communicating safety expectations, addressing driver concerns, and supporting continuous improvement of safety and hiring practices.

Qualifications

Truck Driving and Truck operations knowledge to understand practical safety and performance requirements. Familiarity with CDL Class A or equivalent commercial driver licensing standards and regulatory compliance. Strong Communication skills for clear interaction with drivers, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Customer Service mindset to support both internal and external customers with professionalism and responsiveness. Experience in safety management, driver recruiting, or transportation operations is highly beneficial. Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations, hours-of-service rules, and compliance programs. Ability to analyze safety data, prepare reports, and implement corrective action plans. Proficiency with basic computer applications and HR or fleet management systems. Relevant post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, business, or equivalent experience.
