THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL
Base Salary:$22.50/hr
We are looking for Engineering Interns to join our teams and contribute to products and platforms that support millions of members. Whether your interests are in software engineering, data engineering, or applied AI, you will work on real problems that have meaningful impact. From your first week, you will be embedded on a team and treated as a contributor, not an observer.
Each intern will own a clearly defined project scoped by their manager. You will be responsible for driving that project from design through implementation and delivery, and presenting your results to your team at the conclusion of your internship. Projects may range from building product features, to developing data pipelines, to prototyping AI-driven capabilities. Regardless of focus, you will be expected to deliver high-quality work that is expected to ship to production and used by millions.
We value ownership, curiosity, and sound judgment. The strongest interns here take initiative, ask thoughtful questions, and seek feedback early. They are comfortable navigating ambiguity, thinking critically about trade-offs, and holding a high bar for quality in code, data, and documentation. We also care deeply about collaboration. Clear communication, humility, and a willingness to learn quickly are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a member of an engineering team to design, build, test, and ship production-quality solutions that deliver real value to our customers.
- Own a defined intern project scoped by your manager, driving it from initial design through implementation and final delivery, with guidance and technical mentorship from an assigned engineer.
- Apply strong engineering fundamentals, including writing clean and maintainable code, validating results, and documenting your work.
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to refine requirements, incorporate feedback, and iterate thoughtfully.
- Present your completed project and outcomes to your team at the end of your internship, clearly articulating your approach, trade-offs, and impact.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You are currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical program and have completed at least your second year of study
- You have foundational knowledge of programming and problem-solving, and a demonstrated interest in building systems, working with data, or exploring AI-driven solutions.
- You take ownership of your work, seek feedback early, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity. You care about quality and hold yourself to a high standard.
- You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively with teammates, and are motivated to learn and improve continuously.
