

SR MANAGER CONSUMER INSIGHTS

Position Overview The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights is the champion of the customer and is responsible for delivering fact-based, actionable insights that inform strategic and tactical decision-making across The Home Depot Canada. This role leads a centralized insights function and a small team, leveraging qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to provide meaningful recommendations that influence business strategy, customer experience, marketing effectiveness, and growth opportunities. The incumbent partners closely with cross-functional leaders across Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Public Relations, and other business functions to develop a deep understanding of customers, competitors, and industry trends. Key Responsibilities Consumer Insights Strategy & Research Lead the development and execution of customer research initiatives that generate actionable business insights. Leverage qualitative and quantitative methodologies to support customer segmentation, acquisition, loyalty, satisfaction, and category insights. Design, conduct, and oversee first-party research projects, including questionnaires, moderation, analysis, and reporting. Support innovation and strategic decision-making through concept testing, new product evaluations, and customer-focused research. Develop insights that influence long-term growth strategies and business priorities. Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management Build strong partnerships across Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Public Relations, Legal, Learning, and other business functions. Provide thought leadership and customer-focused perspectives to support key business decisions. Communicate customer, market, and competitive insights to leaders and stakeholders across the organization. Partner with leaders to drive data-informed and customer-centered decision-making. Collaborate with U.S. counterparts to share knowledge, leverage resources, and align best practices. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Consumer Insights team. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth. Contribute positively to the broader Marketing team through leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. Vendor & Budget Management Manage the annual and monthly Consumer Insights budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and investments. Select, onboard, manage, and evaluate external research agencies and vendor partners. Ensure the appropriate research methodologies, tools, and partners are utilized to deliver business value. Location Onsite 5 days per week Working Conditions Office environment with frequent collaboration across cross-functional corporate teams. Minimum Education Relevant undergraduate degree, MBA, or equivalent post-secondary education. Minimum Years of Work Experience 7+ years of progressive experience in consumer insights, market research, customer analytics, or related fields on either the client or supplier side. Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, analytics, and data synthesis. Retail industry experience considered an asset. Minimum Leadership Experience Experience leading, coaching, and developing a team in a research, insights, analytics, or related function. Certifications Other Requirements/Assets Experience with advertising testing, brand health tracking, concept testing, customer satisfaction, and usage & attitudes studies. Ability to fuse multiple sources of insights into clear strategic advice for senior leadership audiences. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations. Experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau. Ability to communicate complex insights to diverse audiences, including senior leaders. Strong relationship management and influencing skills across all levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment. Entrepreneurial, proactive, and resourceful mindset. The pay range for this position is between $88,700.00 - $107,300.00 As the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, we operate over 2,200 retail stores across North America.
