Your role The Media Solutions finance department (finance team supporting the sales department), responsible for reporting and budget analysis of CBC/Radio-Canada's revenues, is looking for an accounting officer to prepare month-end accounting entries, support administrative requests from the Sales Department and participate in the royalty payment process.

Reporting to the Lead Analyst, Budgeting and Internal Reporting, the accounting officer will be a member of a Finance team closely involved in content sales and marketing strategies. This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities :

  • Enter, process, and interpret essential financial data for departmental operations.
  • Provide administrative support to internal and external clients (including billing).
  • Interpret financial management standards, policies, and processes, and advise managers on resolving difficulties encountered in processing financial data.
  • Prepare and verify monthly month-end accounting entries.
  • Prepare and calculate semi-annual royalties payable to rights holders.
  • Collaborate regularly with the sales department and other internal departments.
  • Any other related tasks.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting or Finance, and one year of experience, or College Diploma (DEC) in Business Administration and a minimum of two years of experience, or seven years of experience in related fields.
  • Ability to manage priorities, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated rigor, meticulousness, accuracy, resourcefulness, discretion, analytical skills, curiosity, and adaptability to new IT tools.
  • Interest and aptitude for optimizing tools and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to work in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of English is a major asset.
