We are looking for a Communications and Community Engagement Manager to join our team! You’ll play a key role in ensuring efficiency and effective workflow of strategic priorities, communication, and governance initiatives to reflect our mission, vision and values. The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong organization and administrative skills; capable of operating independently with minimal direction; easily adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of client service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to interpret and communicate information requests
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to high quality work
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly self-motivated team player; ability to interact efficiently with peers and Leadership team
  • Not For Profit experience is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role
  • College of Early Childhood Educators, is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be COVID-19 Vaccinated and provide Proof of Vaccination
  • Record of up-to-date Immunization (TB Test, Tetanus, Polio, MMR)
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification, is an asset
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (done in the last 6 months)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports with communications and administrative support to external projects and commitments
  • Planning and coordination of events
  • Identifies key opportunities for strategic storytelling and impact sharing in alignment with Mission, Vision, Values and strategic priorities
  • Supports media relations initiatives (ie. coordinating news releases, responsive and preventative issues communication management)
  • Supports designing, drafting and distributing internal and external communications
  • Manage, plan, and evaluate social media content and opportunities for engagement sharing across social media platforms
  • Develops strategies and initiatives to thoughtfully engage with various stakeholders and communities, implement community engagement systems to promote, elevate, and enrich neighbourhood engagement, community access, participation, and resources
  • Identify key opportunities to build new partnerships to enhance work with children, families, and communities
  • Work with staff, providers, and partners to share, engage and connect children and families with community resources, events, and programs
  • Manage, mitigate, respond to, and evaluate community risks and issues
  • Develop, implement, support and evaluate low-barrier initiatives, activities, events, and opportunities to engage children and families in neighbourhoods (ie. community events, programs, HIGH Five accreditation)
  • Coordinate and develop initiatives to create stronger partnerships with families (ie. Family Councils, Events, Family e-Newsletters, creative use of Family Fridge App)
