The Role
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by loading and unloading shipments, receiving and storing inventory, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The Forklift Operator plays a key role in ensuring products are handled safely, quality standards are maintained, and customer orders are fulfilled on time while adhering to all food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment

Pick customer and production orders accurately

Prepare orders for shipment

Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently

Verify shipping and receiving documentation
-
Inspect incoming materials against purchase orders and invoices
-
Store inventory in designated warehouse locations
-
Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures
-
Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems, handheld barcode/scanners and other computerized inventory controls

Assist with general warehouse duties as required
Qualifications
-
Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is considered an asset
-
Valid forklift certification is an asset (training may be provided)

Basic computer skills with ability to learn warehouse and inventory management systems

Experience using inventory control systems and handheld barcode/scanners is considered an asset

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely throughout the shift
