What would my role be?
Reporting to the Manager, Health Records and Decision Support, you will:
-
Ensure efficient completion and data accuracy of the MDS/RAI data system.
-
Provide education, support, and data analysis to the management and clinical teams to ensure optimal utilization of the data.
-
Work in close collaboration with the MDS/NRS coordinators and the entire department of Decision Support, management, medical chiefs, and interdisciplinary teams of LTC, CCC, and Rehab programs, as well as some corporate services, namely Health Records, Admission and Patient Registration, and Quality and Risk Management Service.

Develop training materials and oversee the training of clinical, medical, and management staff at initial system implementation and for any significant subsequent changes in system functionality.

Provide timely and accurate support to clinicians and managers in their use of the system.

Plan, test, and implement major upgrades or additional modules of the software.

Upgrade the system as required following bed closures or system updates provided by CIHI.

Deal with any barriers encountered during the implementation of the system or upgrades.

Conduct analyses to ensure the integrity of clinical data captured by the systems.
-
Liaise with the vendor and maintain knowledge of the software vendor’s direction through material provided by the vendor and participation in user groups.
How do I qualify?
Required:
- Undergraduate degree in a related health field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience in long-term care (LTC), complex continuing care, or rehabilitation settings.
- Valid registration within a regulated health profession.
Preferred:

Expertise in data analysis.

Expertise in MEDITECH

Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)

Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills with a proven ability to meet critical deadlines consistently.

Strong oral, written, presentation, and communication skills.

Able to work in a collegial, consultative, and collaborative manner with interdisciplinary team members.

Consistently able to show conscientious attention to detail.

Demonstrated expertise in using various computer software applications, including Point Click Care, with a willingness and ability to upgrade skills as required.

Expertise in data analysis and report writing.

Knowledge of software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SPSSX.

Able to teach using various teaching modalities.

Able to function in a self-directed manner.

What would my role be?
