Compliance Co-op (4 or 8 months)
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to assist Infrastructure Services in the area of compliance from May to August 2026 or May to December 2026. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance, the individual will be part of the team responsible for the administration of the Towns compliance programs for the water, wastewater and stormwater divisions (operations).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, plans, audit programs, and systems necessary to comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal legislated requirements for water, wastewater, and stormwater operations.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and training materials for operational staff.
- Assist with records management, including the digitization of physical (paper) records
- Assist with the implementation of upcoming compliance and operational database system.
- Assist with public education and outreach initiatives developed and/or facilitated by the Compliance Division relating to water, wastewater, and stormwater.
- Conduct fieldwork, collect data, and perform onsite inspections at various operation system sites including inspections of stormwater management components.
- Assist with compiling and entering data for reporting.
- Complete and assist with other related duties as assigned within the Compliance Division.
Competencies & Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a recognized University or College, specifically in Environmental Science, Studies, Biology, Environmental Technology or Technician program or equivalent related field.
- Possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, project/time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Ability to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies, and the public.
- Candidates must have the ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
- Own or willing to purchase safety footwear as a pre-condition of employment.
- Able to submit a successful Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check as a pre-condition of employment.
The hourly rate for this position is $21.08 (2025 rate) per hour.
