Production Worker – 6-month contract ARAUCO is a global manufacturer of sustainably-produced forest product solutions for construction, industrial, and retail markets. With over 120 facilities worldwide, we manufacture and distribute the industry’s most-comprehensive selection of wood composite panels, premium plywood, millwork, lumber, and FSC-certified wood pulp. Position Summary An experienced production worker who demonstrates analytical thinking, problem solving skills and decision-making abilities. A highly motivated, goal oriented individual with proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Performing various duties on our production and finishing lines
- Responsible for quality of the product manufactured, material handling, operation of lift truck, general labour and clean-up
- Arauco is a 24/7 operation; shift work is required
Required Skills And Qualifications
- High School diploma plus 5 years work experience
- Post-secondary education preferred
- 2-3 years’ work experience in a production/manufacturing facility
- Works well in a team environment
- Leads and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Computer knowledge for machine operator
- Heavy equipment/machine operator experience considered an asset
Hourly rate is $23.64

Market Growth, Economic Stimulus
In April 2017, ARAUCO conducted groundbreaking ceremonies in Grayling, Michigan, marking the official start of the construction phase for what will become the most modern particleboard plant in North America, and the largest of its kind globally. Slated for completion in late 2018, the plant will feature North America’s largest single continuous particleboard press (170 ft.) and will be one of the most productive in the world.
The plant location will improve the logistics of the entire chain of production, and support anticipated customer growth in the Midwest. In addition, ARAUCO anticipates the Grayling operations will create 700 construction jobs, 200 direct jobs at the plant; and one to two support jobs locally for every direct job.
