About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures

continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge,

understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

The Radiation Therapist reports directly to the Manager, Radiation Therapy. The Radiation Therapist is accountable

for the provision of the highest quality of physical and emotional care for all patients undergoing Radiation Therapy.

The Incumbents are required to accurately plan and execute radiation treatments in accordance with the Radiation

Oncologists prescription. At all times, the Radiation Therapist must practice their profession within the Scope of

Practice for Radiation Therapy, as specified by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario. With

responsibility for the safety of the patient while under his/her care the Radiation Therapist is responsible for ensuring

that all Radiation Therapy equipment is functional, accurate and safe to operate. In conjunction with the Clinical

Coordinator, the Radiation Therapist is responsible for ensuring that students are properly supervised and provided

with the experiences and instruction required to prepare them to be competent graduates.

Qualifications:

* Graduate of recognized Radiation Therapy program with membership in the College of Medical Radiation and

Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists

(CAMRT) or OAMRS Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences

* Excellent communication, observational skills and proven mathematical and technical ability

Salary Range: $40.268 to 54.935
