This is a Temporary Full-Time Opportunity Duration: March 31, 2026 Type: New This position is based within the Centre for Digital Health Evaluation (CDHE) and the Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV) . The successful candidate will work under the leadership of Dr. Onil Bhattacharyya, Director of WIHV. CDHE conducts timely, real-world evaluations of digital health tools to determine whether they are effective, equitable, scalable, and safe. Our work spans virtual care, remote monitoring, digital diagnostics, AI, and other innovations designed to improve care access, equity, patient and provider experience, and health system sustainability. We work closely with governments, clinicians, innovators, vendors, and communities to ensure that evidence informs decision-making and long-term impact.

This is a collaborative, high-impact role ideal for someone with a background in health services research, digital health, or health policy, and a passion for producing actionable evidence in partnership with system stakeholders. The successful candidate will also contribute to mentoring students, trainees, and staff, and to fostering an inclusive, learning-focused team environment.

Summary Of Duties, But Not Limited To

  • Participate partially or fully in all stages of research studies
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals to funding agencies
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals for additional funding sources (e.g., Ministry of Health)
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to research coordinators, assistants, students, and fellows, supporting their integration into the team and professional development
  • Conduct literature searches of different methodologic approaches
  • Apply a variety of methodologic approaches in the pursuit of research objectives, by directing or carrying out such methodologies as surveys and questionnaires, participant observation, interviews, or other investigative techniques
  • Participate in recruitment processes as needed
  • Prepare materials for presentations
  • Develop drafts of manuscripts and knowledge translation materials for publication and distribution (e.g., video, webinar, infographics), and revise as required based on research team and advisory group input
  • Contribute toward development of guidelines, procedures, and standards
  • Ensure that the rights and well‐being of human subjects are respected and protected in the conduct of research
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data
  • Conduct data analyses using statistical software and interprets results
  • Utilize study findings in the development and writing of grant proposals for new research activities
  • Adjust project budgets and spending priorities; submitting changes to funders for approval where required
  • Work with Research Grants Coordinator to set up new cost centres
  • Supervise the team’s research coordinators, research assistants, and research volunteers
  • Support the team’s students and ensures their operational integration within the organization
  • Maintain all project materials, records, and equipment in a confidential location
  • Lead any relevant Research Ethics Board (REB) applications

Qualifications

  • Completed master's degree in a related field
  • At least five years of experience working in research with a focus on program evaluation and health services research
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise research assistants, and/or graduate students in research
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, user centered design methodology and integration of design approaches
  • Expertise in qualitative methods, including, for example, thematic analyses and exploration of barriers and enablers to behaviour change
  • Experience with qualitative software such as NVivo
  • Exercises considerable judgment and decision making in selecting methodologies, content of teaching materials, data collection/analysis, etc.
  • Expresses complex scientific/medical concepts effectively
  • Personable, with strong relational and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Works well under pressure and uses good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, with minimal direction from investigator
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good work and attendance record required
