About the role
Central Stampings is an industry leader in the automotive industry for metal stamping and assembly. As a result of continuously growing our professional team, we have a challenging career opportunity for a Shipping Clerk. The successful candidate for this position will report to the Production Control Manager, Plant Manager, and Shipping Supervisor and will be responsible for the preparation of shipping documentation and any other clerical duties requested by their Shipping Supervisor or other Management personnel.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare all shipping documentation on a daily basis, error free. This includes load sheets, labels, shippers and customs documents if required. The Shipping Clerk shall verify the first OEM barcode label printed daily to make sure barcodes scan properly as per OEM format.
- Send all advanced shipping notifications, or "ASNs", to customers on completion of paperwork with the driver's signature, and file all ASN records and load sheets on a daily basis.
- Keep copies and update as needed of all shipper and customs paperwork.
- Provide administrative support to the Shipping Supervisor and provide any other clerical duties requested by their Shipping Supervisor or other management personnel.
- Complete any other assigned duties required by the Production Control Manager.
- Complete all FedEx shipments and/or ant other small parcel shipments.
- Complete paperwork for all miscellaneous shipments and ensure all informatio is on the miscellaneous shipper in order to create accurate paperwork.
- Sign in all drivers and follow CTPAT rules and regulations.
- Record CTPAT approved seals and distribute to drivers. The Shipping Clerk will also ensure all seals are stored in a locked and secured area.
- Be the backup for the Shipping Supervisor when needed.
- Set up expedite carriers as required.
- Complete DRP transactions within 30 minutes of a truck leaving.
- Order and cancel trucks as required by customer releases.
Job Requirements
- Secondary school diploma.
- Previous experience in a shipping warehouse environment. Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience must contain strong organizational, communication, administrative and time management skills.
