Collision Repair
Purpose of Position
The Educational Assistant (Vocational) provides classroom support in the areas of student management and teacher support as outlined in the job profile.
Duties and Responsibilities
Are established by the School Principal within the parameters of the job profile.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent 1 to 2 years related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to follow standardized work methods and processes while working with children to support learning.
- Demonstrated ability to function in the language of classroom instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to function at the level of knowledge required of the students, e.g., in English, Mathematics, etc., including reading and writing.
- Effective basic computer skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work directly with students in a classroom environment, including the ability to motivate, explain and manage potentially difficult/emotional situations, and to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other staff..
- Demonstrated ability to work in a vocational setting.
- Class 5 Driver’s license.
- First Aid, CPR Certification.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
Preferred Qualifications
- WHMIS training/Certification.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Demonstrated skills relative to the vocation, culinary or trade.
- Effective customer service experience.
- Flexible to change in work schedule.

Permanent CUPE employees presently on staff will be given early consideration, in accordance with COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.
