About the job
You will:
- monitor emerging issues and provide advice to Senior Management to define communications issues along with research and resolution strategies
- using critical thinking, conduct analysis of contentious issues impacting the provincial highway network
- respond to requests for information
- work collaboratively within the branch and with other branches/divisions to prepare and coordinate briefing materials, presentations, reports and publications
- provide support to the Branch Management Team by managing special projects.

Communication skills and knowledge
You can:
- demonstrate oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy to provide advice and guidance to senior management on sensitive issues
- prepare various documents such as briefing materials, reports and presentations
- translate technical information into plain language
Analytical skills and issues management knowledge
- Use analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills to research and analyze issues, identify potentially contentious issues, and provide advice to senior management
Technical knowledge
You have knowledge of:

risk management methods and techniques to analyze risks and create strategies to manage the impact

- use a variety of computer software (e.g., spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, database and presentation applications)
