Qualifications
- Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
- Experience in preparing a Canadian income tax return
- Previous experience utilizing online tax preparation software
- Willingness to register as a CVITP volunteer
- Willingness to participate in CVITP training
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word and Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability
- Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
- Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
- Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary team
Position Summary The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) Assistant is responsible for supporting the annual CVITP Service within Prairie Mountain Health (PMH) communities. The duties of the Assistant include supporting current and new volunteers, scheduling and operational logistics, engaging with clients at both drop-off and appointment locations.
Overview RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides reception duties at the Brandon CVITP appointment location (BNRC)
- Provides reception duties at the Brandon CVITP drop-off location (7th Street HAC)
- Organizes CVITP Meet and Greet and Training events
- Organizes CVITP Windup event
- Records incoming client information
- Provides operational and logistical support to current CVITP sites and volunteers in collaboration with CVITP Leads.
- Contacts clients when additional information is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
