Lakehead University, Orillia Campus, invites applications for one tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. The position will commence on August 1, 2026.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Political Science, or be near completion at the time of appointment, with a specialization in political theory and demonstrated expertise in law and jurisprudence. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in political theory along with introductory courses in political science. The ability to teach public policy courses will be considered an additional asset. Evidence of strong teaching effectiveness, an active research agenda, and the potential for scholarly achievement are required. Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired.
Compensation
The expected compensation range for this position is:
- Assistant Professor: $88,094 - $133,223
Salary will be determined in accordance with the collective agreement and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
