Summary
Reports to the ITS Foreman - Maintenance and works under the direction of the Foreman of Electronics & Computer Services. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration and installation tasks, including modifications. May perform minor elements of other trades.
Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary technical diploma or certification in a recognized computer/electronics program equivalent to 2 years such as the Computer Engineering Technology program or equivalent combination of training.
Required to hold a Certified Network Engineer (CNE) or a related ticket/certificate.
Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade.
In-dept knowledge of Active Directory; experience with VMWARE; extensive knowledge of networking, subnetting and private network hierarchy; understanding of Layer 3 switching, VLANs and routing.
Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, IBM School Connect and VPN are assets.
Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
Valid BC Driver's lisence. Safe driving record.
Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to use judgement when providing information.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes and methods.
Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits.
Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
