Is this job for you? What is Commercial Division? Commercial Division is The Brick’s B2B business unit that focuses on business-to-business contracts and partnerships across Canada. The division primarily works with builders, trade professionals, self-employed real estate professionals, corporations and local businesses.

The Role: This is a B2B farmer and hunter role that is accountable to bringing in new business opportunities, as well as nurturing net new accounts to produce incremental revenue. You will spend up to 30% of your time on the road to meet with clients and the other 70% is spent researching, prospecting, quoting, planning or entertaining clients at our Commercial Showrooms. The focus market segment of this role will be the local businesses, home builders and trades vertical market.

Expectations: You will be joining a proactive and high-caliber sales team that focuses on customer experience and providing solutions. You are expected to deliver against your KPI through sales consultancy to understand the business needs of your prospects / customers, including helping them identify their undiscovered needs from the present state to the future state, to ensure customer satisfaction before, throughout and after the sale.

  • Prepare annual business plan with a clear breakdown of quarterly commitments and forecasted revenue.
  • Proactively prospect for new business opportunities and onboard net new accounts with a focus on local businesses, builders and trades vertical market.
  • Enhance relationship with net new accounts to identify and secure future business opportunities.
  • Provide quotes in a timely manner to clients and ensure accuracy of details communicated.
  • Provide product specifications and generate project quotes via Salesforce.
  • Perform site visits pre contract to have a full understanding of project needs.
  • Follow-up with accounts post-delivery and visit to ensure satisfaction and immediately take action against discrepancies.
  • Act as a consultant to the partners’ business and proactively work towards getting involved in the planning stages for future projects.
  • Forecast 180 days out and align with the purchasing department to ensure inventory levels are met for contract sales.
  • Maintain an updated Salesforce log of your prospects and key accounts.
  • Ensure that all key metrics are met on a quarterly basis (new accounts, incremental revenue and margin).

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business or Marketing with minimum 5 years of B2B outbound consultative sales and customer service experience or minimum 7 years of B2B outbound consultative sales and customer service experience in lieu of post-secondary education.
  • A clear understanding of “true salesmanship” that goes way beyond simply moving products or order taking.
  • Knowledge of Territory Management with the ability to create and execute strategies within assigned territory to deliver against sales targets.
  • Outstanding Time Management skills.
  • Having a “growth mindset and sense of accountability” are an absolute must.
  • Deep understanding of appliance, electronics, mattress and furniture industry is a plus.
  • Experience in working with independently owned businesses and SMB category businesses a bonus.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to function independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
