Purpose:

This position is responsible for planning & forecasting, management reporting, business case analysis and

ad-hoc projects and analytics. They work with others within the finance team and other business units to

support financial planning initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with the finance and business unit teams to complete month end reporting packages featuring KPI and financial statement reporting with variance explanations
  • Looking beyond the numbers and providing actionable insights. These will help guide strategies, optimizing performance, and ultimately help achieve our business objectives.
  • Assist in preparation of Board Presentations
  • Assist with the development of an annual budget and forecasts as required
  • Support the business unit teams in business case preparation and ad hoc analysis as required
  • Help develop and implement systems and process to enable product, business unit, customer and supplier reporting
  • Assist in the development, implementation and reporting of key performance metrics
  • Support and provide analysis of store and customer profitability analysis
  • The successful candidate will be able to work independently, have excellent systems capability, a strong attention to detail and meet necessary deadlines

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in accounting or finance

  • Ideally have an MBA/CPA or working towards completion of MBA/CPA

  • 5-10 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis or in similar analytical roles.

Skills:

  • Highly organized with an eye for detail, ability to work independently and strong time management skills
  • Experience with various technology platforms and software, MS Office with an advanced ability working with Excel
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability as a problem solver who takes initiative and is solutions-oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentially is mandatory
  • Ability to prioritize, plan and strong sense of urgency
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to handle several tasks at once
  • Excellent with numbers and a high level of accuracy
  • Good writing and communications skills
  • Liaise with all levels of the organization in a professional, courteous manner
