The Role:
AsBody Maintenance Team Managerat Ford Oakville, you will lead a team of Maintenance Supervisors, and Skilled Trades team members to drive a culture of excellence, focus, and collaboration. You will ensure productivity, quality, safety, and cost targets are achieved for all shifts/crews within the Body department. You will deliver all department scorecard objectives, owning processes and standardization. You will lead continuous improvement opportunities to ensure production volume and quality targets are achieved and serve as a change agent to drive the Ford Production System.
You'll have...
- Education: University Degree or College Diploma in technical related field, or Skilled Trades Certificate of Qualification in technical related field.
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years in manufacturing maintenance and/or manufacturing engineering roles.
- Must be able to work all shifts; days, afternoons, midnights and weekends. Immediate and confirmed eligibility to travel to the USA for training
Even better, you may have...
- Experience in high-speed Class-A automotive Stamping operations.
- Knowledge of constraint management principles.
- Ability to interact with all employees in the organization.
- In depth experience in assembly manufacturing processes.
- Strong working knowledge of the Ford Production System.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employees.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills. Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.

In this Position...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Lead Maintenance teams, and skilled trades teams in maintenance of all department equipment.
- Maximizing equipment effectiveness to improve productivity and quality.
- Develop and lead preventative maintenance activities.
- Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Promote improved department safety metrics and provide resources.
- Address department Health and Safety concerns. Enforce compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards.
- Develop and implement a training strategy for all team members.
- Coach, counsel, and teach to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
- Coordinate resources and activities of the organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Lead Ford Production System implementation.
- Lead Health and Safety reviews of new production equipment.
- Promote and ensure constant improvement in product quality, plant competitiveness and total cost structure.
- Ensure the department complies with government/industry standards.
- Facilitate start-up, shutdown, weekends, and shift to shift meetings.
- Evaluate and deliver preventive maintenance measurables.
- Implement material control (spare part inventory), repair and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews.
- Review department safety measurables, coordinate improvement activities, and address department Health and Safety concerns.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions through the established methodology.
- Achieve labor and operating budget targets.
- Recognize and celebrate accomplishments of the team.
