We provide a diverse range of roles across many locations and a career where you can make a meaningful impact.</span></p><strong>THE ROLE</strong><p><span>The Community Recreation Coordinator plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families. </span></p> <p><span>Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to the playground or day camp. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign the kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, our services are here to help. </span></p> <p><span>You will have a diverse portfolio, focusing on the development and implementation of a new Before and After School care program along with overseeing the aquatic department, and assisting base clubs. The position will allow you to work hands on with children, develop programming for a new location and work collaboratively on special events with the larger Recreation and Special Events team. This position will manage the staff of both portfolios with support and direction from the manager.</span></p> <p><span>You will have a chance to expand your skills and share your passions as you mentor junior staff and volunteers all with the goal of improving the quality of life for our military. </span></p> <p><span>We are looking for dynamic, independent and motivated individual to join our team, helping us ensure recreation is all about fun!</span></p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED</strong><p><strong><span>Education, Certifications and Licenses</span></strong></p> <p><span> College diploma or certificate in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or Community Development, or a related field</span></p> <p><span> Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications </span></p> <p><span>HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)</span></p> <p><span> HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 (successful completion by end of probation)</span></p> <p><strong><span>Experience </span></strong></p> <p><span>In planning and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation programs</span></p> <p><span> In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation</span></p> <p><span> In budget administration</span></p> <p><span> In personnel administration</span></p> <p><span> In pool management and maintenance </span></p> <p><strong><span>Competencies</span></strong></p> <p><span>Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership</span></p><strong>LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS<
