Job Location: St Catharines, ON, In Person

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Company Summary: Our client is a well-established custom stair and railing manufacturer based in St. Catharines, Ontario. Known for delivering premium craftsmanship across the Golden Horseshoe region, they combine traditional woodworking expertise with modern tools and technology to produce high-end stair systems for residential and commercial projects.

Position Summary/Objective: They are currently seeking a dedicated, reliable, and skilled Shop Labourer/Stair Assembler to join their team. This is a full-time, in-person role best suited to individuals with a background in cabinetry, woodworking, or stair manufacturing.

Main Responsibilities/Duties : The Shop Labourer/Stair Assembler is responsible for crafting and assembling custom stair components, including treads, risers, stringers, and railings. Working in a fast-paced and supportive shop environment, you’ll use hand tools, power tools, and technical drawings to bring beautiful, structurally sound staircases to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and assemble stair components using woodworking tools and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints and job specs accurately
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all components before finishing and installation
  • Follow health and safety procedures in the workshop
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complete basic documentation or job tracking paperwork

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in stair assembly, cabinetry, or custom woodworking
  • Proven ability to read and work from technical drawings or blueprints
  • Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools (saws, routers, sanders, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery
  • Good math and measurement skills
  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs repeatedly and stand/work with tools for full shifts
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work
  • English fluency (spoken and written)
