Job Title: Test Analyst – Procurement System Modernization

Client: Government of Alberta (Technology and Innovation) Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Onsite – 5 Days/Week) Duration: Initial Contract with Possible Extension up to 12 Months Hours: 36.25 Hours/Week (Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM MST) Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in Canada and perform work from within Canada. Overview The Government of Alberta is seeking a Test Analyst to support the Procurement System Modernization Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities to ensure enterprise procurement and financial systems meet business and technical requirements. This role requires strong experience in QA testing, UAT coordination, ERP/SAP testing, defect management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities Review business requirements and design specifications and provide testing input. Develop and support test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts. Coordinate testing activities with business users, project teams, technical resources, security teams, and vendors. Identify test data requirements and manage test datasets. Execute test cases, validate results, and document defects/issues. Track testing progress, defects, risks, blockers, and overall testing status. Facilitate and manage test execution activities and testing cycles. Collaborate with project teams to investigate and resolve testing issues. Evaluate testing outcomes and recommend implementation readiness. Prepare testing dashboards, metrics, reports, and stakeholder updates. Support QA, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and Release Testing. Assist project teams utilizing AI-enabled testing tools and automated testing solutions. Participate in meetings and provide testing-related status updates and recommendations. Mandatory Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in: Information Technology Computer Science Business Accounting Finance Supply Chain Or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

4+ years coordinating testing activities with business users, BAs, technical teams, project managers, security teams, and vendors. 4+ years executing test cases, managing test data, validating results, and logging defects. 4+ years identifying testing issues and implementing process improvements. 4+ years preparing or supporting test plans and test cases. 4+ years supporting QA testing, UAT coordination, test execution, and defect lifecycle management. 4+ years supporting testing activities within SAP, ERP, procurement, finance, supply chain, or integrated enterprise systems. 3+ years tracking testing progress, defect metrics, risks, blockers, dashboards, and stakeholder reporting. 1+ year hands-on experience testing Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes, including: SAP Ariba Procurement Workflows SAP S/4HANA Financial Integrations Or similar ERP procurement solutions

Required Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong stakeholder management and coordination abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years testing system integrations, interfaces, data flows, and end-to-end business processes. 2+ years translating business requirements into test scenarios and test cases. 2+ years experience with: SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) SAP Fieldglass Similar ERP procurement systems 4+ years experience with: Smoke Testing Unit Testing System Testing Integration Testing Regression Testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) 2+ years experience using: JIRA Revision Control Systems (RCS) Understanding of ERP implementation lifecycles, testing methodologies, release management, and defect management processes. Additional Requirements Conflict of Interest Attestation required. Criminal Record Check may be required prior to onboarding. Must complete Government of Alberta mandatory training, including: Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Security Awareness Training Interview & Evaluation Financial/Pricing: 20% Qualifications: 20% Interview: 60%
